Create Custom Node Metadata

Enable or Disable Custom Node Metadata

To edit custom node metadata, follow these steps:

From the Content tab of the Administrator Dashboard, select Custom Node Metadata from the Content Navigation sidebar.

Result: The Custom Node Metadata pane is displayed.
Click the Edit custom Metadata type link.

Result: The Edit Node MetaData type window is displayed with the Main tab pre-selected.
Enter the required information in the following fields:
1. Name
2. Description
Select a node metadata type checkbox from the following options:
1. Node- Creates a new endpoint in the AnswerHub User Interface (UI).
2. User Relation- Creates a new user relation.
Select the Karma & Security tab.

Result: The Karma & Security tab is displayed.
If the node metadata type will award karma, do the following:
1. Select the Award Karma checkbox.
  
  Result: The To node author and To metadata author fields are displayed.
2. Enter the number of reputation to award a user when they create a new node in the To node author field.
3. Enter the number of reputation to award to a user when they create new metadata in the To metadata author field.
If the custom node metadata type will be limited to specific content types, do the following:
1. Select the Limit Node Types checkbox.
2. Select the specific [node type] checkboxes to limit the new custom node metadata to those node types.
From the Permissions section, click the When who assigns the metadata is the node author drop-down menu, and select from the following options:
1. Deny- Users gain reputation from this new node metadata type.
2. Must be logged in - Only users who are logged in can gain reputation from this new node metadata type.
3. Must have role - Users must have a specific role.
  
  Note: Selecting Must have role displays a second drop-down menu with a list of all possible permissions for your AnswerHub site.
  
  Result: If Must have role is selected, a second drop-down menu with a list of all of the permissions for your AnswerHub site is displayed. Select the permission that a user must have to gain reputation from this new node metadata type.
From the When who assigns the metadata is NOT the node author drop-down menu, select one of the following:
1. Deny- Users gain reputation from this new node metadata type.
2. Must be logged in - Only users who are logged in can gain reputation from this new node metadata type.
3. Must have role - Users must have a specific role.
  
  Note: Selecting Must have role displays a second drop-down menu with a list of all possible permissions for your AnswerHub site.
  
  Result: If Must have role is selected, a second drop-down menu with a list of all of the permissions for your AnswerHub site is displayed. Select the permission that a user must have to gain reputation from this new node metadata type.
Select the Command tab.

Result: The Command tab is displayed.
To edit the label for the custom node metadata that a user sees in the AnswerHub User Interface (UI), enter the required information in the Add command ui label field.

For example: You may want it to read Make Sticky.
To edit the label for canceling a custom node metadata, enter the required information in the Cancel command ui label field.

For example: You may want it to read Cancel Sticky.
Click the Ok () button.

Result: A green bar that reads Meta data type edited successfully is displayed at the top of the Custom Node Metadata pane.
